About the SFDL
The San Francisco Darts League (SFDL) is here to promote the sport of darts within the City and County of San Francisco.
The mission of The San Francisco Darts League (SFDL) is to promote the use, history and play of steel tip darts in the city and county of San Francisco, CA.
Founded in 1972 as the San Francisco Darts Association by Sam Hill, we adopted a new name and filing status as a Nonprofit Organization 501(c)(7)in 2014, The San Francisco Darts League (SFDL).
Currently we oversee 20+ teams within 4 divisions (A, B, C, & D) playing out of 15+ bars within the city of San Francisco. We are always adding new bars as our membership grows! Our Fall 2018 Season had around 150 players participating!
We play on Wednesday evenings either at your home bar or at your opponents bar at 7:30pm. Play ends around 11:00pm, depending on the teams players and skill level.
We offer league play twice a year in the Spring and Fall and are the producers of the SF Open, San Francisco's Annual dart tourney held in the fall of the years that we hold it.

How to join a team.
Some of the best ways to join a team after a season starts or even in between seasons, is to show up on a Saturday evening at the Four Deuces on Taravel. At 7:30pm we host a blind draw tournament that many players attend, this is open to anyone, you don't have to be a member! Here you can ask around who is looking for a teammate, it also gives you an idea of what division you would be best suited to join! You could also look at the schedule for any given team and show up a half hour before matches start and ask a player or captain if they are looking for additional teammates.
How create a team.
If you have 4 or more friends that want to start a team in our league, here is how to do it.
- Find a Bar Sponsor. We have a list of bars looking to start a new team! Just send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and let us know if you have a preference in any certain area of the city and we'll find a sponsor* for you! The Sponsor will pay a fee of $125 for the first team they sponsor (it goes down to $100 for a second team, although they will need more then one dart board set-up for multiple teams)
- Gather together your players fees, each player must pay $25 per season to participate. Download and fill out our latest Sign-ups form. Bring the form and all fees to our sign-ups tournament held in early January (Spring Season) and July (Fall Season). We will post exact dates on our Facebook page Twitter Feed and Website Calendar. *Any new bars entering our league must have their dart board and light set-up inspected by a board member prior to league play.
